Division 6!

Written by Magpie at 11:16 31/8-2015

The slow rise of team Magpie continues! We raced at the division 7 race in Montenegro, the Mojkovac GrandPrix and Gaius Barcauan took second. This is his second result is many division seven races which is a great sign for how well the team is progressing. He beat many riders with higher skills than him, which he was able to do due to the support of his teammates and staff. These points put us up to division six, again new ground for the team, which means ever stronger competition. On top of this we have been awarded a 10,000$ grant from local authorities to help the team. This should help us cement our place here and continue to rise. None of our current points expire until day seven of next season and the rest are spread evenly across the whole time so we hopefully shouldn't have the same sudden drops down the rankings that we've experienced in the past. Coming up next for the team is the Anderberg Special Nybro in Sweden, a medium hilly race that should suit the team and it's strengths, after that we'll only be entering division 6 races!

Thank you both for your advice, that is something I've just started to notice is that most other riders of average 50+ have a specialised talent. unfortunately none of current riders have huge potential in any one field. Barcauan only has room for improvement in cobbles and downhill, which are not hugely popular. So yes Barcauan has been a great captain in the allround races in the lower divisions

What I am saying is: the higher you get the less allround races there are. You need a long term strategy.

V02maXXers at 00:02 1/9-2015
I am not saying he is not a good captain. You should definitively race allround races with him.

But if you rise the divisions he will be of less value. And then you are going to need a more specialized rider as captain and supporting riders around him.

Kingstowm at 22:20 31/8-2015
I disagree with Lamme Frans here. There are enough allround races. Those are the races where i score most of my ponits.

The overall qualities of Barcauan are a little low though. There are many AV50 riders when you get into the higher divisions, but for now he can get enough points for you in the races that suit him.

V02maXXers at 13:52 31/8-2015
Barcauan is a nice allrounder, but in the higher divisions there are not so much allround races. It's probably better to find a specialized captain and build your team around him.
